Suppose someone besides the landowner was responsible for the accident?

That person and/or the landowner may bear legal liability. For example, suppose you were at the airport walking to a bus and were forced off a very narrow walkway by the luggage cart rental company's retriever barreling ahead with his carts. Suppose that as a result of getting out of harm's way you tripped? There may be liability both on the part of the landowner (for having walkways that are too narrow) and the luggage cart company (for its employee's barreling ahead and not paying attention to pedestrians on the walkway).
