Will any damages awarded as a result of our child’s bicycle accident go to him or to us, his parents?

Our daughter was an outstanding, highly respected gymnast, an Olympic-medal contender, but since her bicycle accident, she no longer can participate in gymnastics. Can she receive damages for this loss?

My child suffered a serious head accident while on his bicycle in a bike lane when he was hit by a car that turned right in front of his path. Who, besides the car driver, can be held responsible?

My son and his best friend were racing each other down a hill, lost control and collided. I think it was his friend’s fault, but his parents say it was both their faults. Who is liable?

My 14-year old son and his best friend, only one wearing a helmet, were riding double, going too fast, when a car unexpectedly turned into them, forcing them off the road, causing both to tumble, suffering cuts, bruises, and facial injuries. Are they partially responsible for the accident? How are damages to be calculated?

What rights do bicyclists have in traffic in general? Are young children held to the same standard of care for their safety as adults?

The bike chain on my child’s dirt bike stripped while riding, causing him to crash head-on into the ground. Is the manufacturer of the bike or the store where we bought the bike liable for damages?

Our 2-year old cousin riding in a child’s seat behind my husband got her leg caught into the spokes of the bike. Is the design of the bike or child’s seat unreasonably unsafe?

My child insists that his bike stopped steering correctly before he crashed into a legally parked car and suffered head, facial and dental injuries. How can we prove that the bike was broken?

My daughter was wearing the bike helmet that we bought for her, but she still suffered a brain injury. Is the bike helmet maker liable?

Our state requires that children wear a bike helmet while bicycling. My son went out without his, and died when a car hit him. Can we still sue?
