Can I get another estimate on car repairs if I think the one given to me is unfair?

Hopefully, you now understand the value of insurance. Auto insurance is a preventative strategy that can save you a lot of money in the long run. Most states require car insurance for the privilege of driving on public roads.

You can ask for a second estimate of damages, but you will be obligated to pay the smaller amount.

It's probably cheaper to pay now than to drag your feet and wind up in court. If you lose there, you may be obligated to pay interest and court costs in addition to the other party's damages. Also, a judgment rendered against you can result in attachment of your wages and bank accounts. Not only does that hurt financially, it harms your reputation with your bank and your employer.
