If I think an estimate is unfair, can I take my car to get another insurance estimate?
Auto insurance is a preventative strategy that can save you a lot of money in the long run. Most states require car insurance for the privilege of driving on public roads.
You can ask for a second estimate of damages, but you will be obligated to pay the smaller amount.
It's probably cheaper to pay now than to drag your feet and wind up in court. A judgment rendered against you can result in court costs in addition to damages and attachment of your wages and bank accounts. Not only does that hurt financially, it harms your reputation with your bank and your employer.
